ADDYs Awarded to Mercer University Press Books

At their annual event last night celebrating advertising professionals in the middle Georgia area, the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Central Georgia presented ADDY Awards@ to two books published by Mercer University Press and designed by the graphic design firm Burt & Burt.

The Throne of Psyche: Poems by Marly Youmans was awarded a GOLD ADDY® for Book Cover Design in recognition of the highest level of creative excellence and was judged to be superior to all other entries in the competition.  Mary–Frances Burt commented that “it is an honor to work for Mercer University Press and author Marly Youmans!”

The Divine Comics: A Vaudeville Show in Three Acts by Philip Lee Williams also received a GOLD ADDY@ for Illustration.  In addition, the book won a Judge’s Choice ADDY.

The ADDY® Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting over 50,000 entries every year in local ADDY® competitions. The mission of the ADDY®  competition is to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising.

The American Advertising Federation (AAF) Central Georgia is a nonprofit trade association serving the Middle Georgia advertising and communications industry with members from Macon, Warner Robins and the surrounding area. AAF Central Georgia  is a member of The American Advertising Federation.
